Nevada is currently second largest geothermal energy producer in United States, just behind California, and at current pace of development I wouldn’t be very surprised if Nevada overtakes California in years to come as top geothermal producing state.

Nevada is already NO.1 state for geothermal capacity under development with 86 geothermal energy projects in the development that could potentially boost capacity anywhere from an extra 2,120 megawatts to 3,686 megawatts. Just for comparison, US currently has total geothermal capacity of 3,087 megawatts.
